As the seasons change and we all start to feel a bit better with a dose of Vitamin D, it is important to note the seasonal activity that will now be noticeable. Our friend, the Boskakalak, is due to make his season appearance, in winter he has hunkered down in the vegetation and mulch in your garden and as the warm days start his first port of call is to enter your roof and start dropping pods.
Suddenly you may notice black roaches in your home that appear to be dropping from the ceiling and also patrolling the external perimeter of your home. Why do they go for the roof? Its warm, and again helps the hatching process and they are attracted to your house with the lights that come on in the evening. While seasonal and not necessarily harmful, they do tend to creep people out and the laying of the pods in the ceiling can do damage to your alarm, electric fence controls, as well as geysers.
If you do start to be bombarded by flying Boskakalaks, the standard treatment involves an external home perimeter spray as well as a full internal roof spray to protect your assets and stop the neighbours hearing your screams on a regular basis.
